A J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit fanfiction that starts a little before the end of the movie/book and tells a story of what could have happened in between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Details may be slightly altered to fit the story. Thranduil looks around at all the death and destruction that lay amongst him, his people scattered throughout the mess. The Woodland King closes his eyes, saying a silent prayer for his kin and sighs. "My King," says a dark haired Elven servant, "the scouts are reporting an elk riding in from the north. They say she is massive, the size of two horses, and pure white. She's headed right for us." Thranduil snapped his head up at this news, wrenched from his previous thoughts. "No," he says, "this can't be, she died in Gorgoroth. The White Queen is dead." Shock and disbelief was dripping from the Elven King's usually stern and calm voice. "Or so we had thought." Said the old grey wizard who had now appeared at Thranduil's side.
