Unwilling to send Lincoln somewhere they don't trust, the Loud family turns down the offer. Lincoln agrees with their decision. As much as he may be curious about the academy, he can't imagine leaving behind his family, his friends, and the life he's built in Royal Woods. But the mysterious representative isn't willing to take no for an answer. Having gathered embarrassing and potentially damaging information about the Loud family, the man threatens to expose their secrets unless they comply with his demands. The Louds refuse to be intimidated. True to his word, he releases the information anyway, throwing the family into chaos. Fearing that the situation will only get worse-and terrified that the mysterious man may somehow force him into attending the academy-Lincoln decides to run away. He doesn't want to be separated from the people he loves, so he hides somewhere he believes nobody will think to look. That's when Lincoln discovers something impossible. Hidden away is a strange rabbit hole that seems far too deep to be an ordinary hole.
