When angels fall, they fall hard...
Dr. Joanna Batson was a famous neurosurgeon on the rise in Chicago. Her life had been perfect until she started to experience disturbing symptoms-falling behind on schedule, lacking motivation, and more dangerously, not caring about patients. She managed to cope until she had a psychotic episode one day...something she doesn't like to talk to anyone about...something that made her return home to Ohio to lick her wounds.
But who said picking up the pieces couldn't be enjoyable?
Who needed people when there were voices in her head to keep her company? All she wanted to do was lie peacefully in the dark, not speaking or interacting with others.
But her brother won't let her.
Ian Batson, private detective, hates seeing his once brilliant sister in this zombie state. He coaxes and pleads for her to rejoin society. When nothing works, he makes a deal: solve one case with him and he'll leave her alone. She agrees reluctantly. And so they work together on their first case that appears to be a suicide..a woman who killed herself by hanging. Or did she?
So begins an outstanding journey...
As the two siblings follow the twists and turns of the crime, they encounter revelations...about others and themselves. At the end, one of them has a choice to make: call it quits before they get hurt or keep up this thrilling and dangerous game...
