Kai, Nya and Lloyd have... an interesting home life, to say the least. Their parents, Maya and Ray, are world travelling scientists pushing for the next major breakthrough in oceanic discoveries, and with their legacy overshadowing their children, expect only the best of the kids they had "raised." Kai, the eldest, was forced to step up for his siblings at a young age during his parent's frequent "business trips," sacrificing most of his early adolescence in an attempt to preserve what little remained of his brother and sister's childhood. With their parents largely out of the picture, the Smith children make friends, build relationships, and begin to thrive without the oppressive weight of Maya and Ray's impossible expectations and crippling absence. Sure, things are imperfect, and some parts of their lives loom over their heads like storm clouds, but what they have is theirs, untouchable and wholly their own. Until one day it all falls apart. Three years later, Kai is finishing up high school when his parents decide to show up again- this time for good. As the drama of the healing family's lives build up, someone begins to quake from the pressure. Will they be able to keep their secret? Will old connections be reforged? Will they finally be a family again, after so many years of distance and bitterness? And most of all, what will happen when the chips come down? Read on to find out! Kai has always been the strong one-the one who keeps moving, keeps fighting, keeps the fire burning no matter what. So when the mission goes wrong and the ground collapses beneath him, he doesn't panic. Not at first. Even when he's trapped under layers of stone, even when the light disappears and the air feels too still, Kai tells himself he's fine. He calls out, waits, tries to stay calm. Because that's what he's supposed to do. That's who he is. Strong. Steady. Unbreakable. The silence stretches. And little by little, something starts to crack. The darkness feels heavier. The space feels smaller. His voice doesn't sound as confident as it should. Thoughts he doesn't want creep in-what if they didn't hear him? What if they think he didn't make it? Riley and Belle Anderson might just be the most famous pair of twins in the world. The Anderson twins are famous for their twin telepathy, meaning they can communicate through their minds. With that being said, they couldn't be more different. Belle Anderson has long, blond hair and brown eyes. Riley Anderson had long-ish brown hair and blue eyes.
