One evening, generations ago, the sun went down and the next day it never came back up. The world burst into chaos. Scientists could not explain the reasoning behind it's disappearance. With the world losing its sun, not only did all the plants die but power ceased to exist and humans began to die off from the severe cold that came with losing the sun. Government officials moved remaining survivors to an underground bunker where they continued to grow and thrive for decades to come. Decades later, 18 year old Delaney learns the truth about why the sun never came back up, she reaches a dilemma of exposing the truth or keeping the knowledge to herself despite the risks. ***Honestly, because of how my mind works, this might change lol.***

When the lights go out and the doors wont open at school, she had to find a way out. She has to prove that she is not snobby and that she is smart and that she is brave. Braver than anyone else. She has to get everyone else or it might just be too late to save them. The worst part is that a war is going on outside and they don't even see it. Who's gonna die? What's gonna happen? She needs to find out who put them in this situation. Oh and don't forget, they're being attacked by creatures. Too many to count.

This is a short story I wrote in my English class for a competition. It got second in the class and I honestly didn't try too hard. With that being said, I don't think it's terribly amazing but apparently a lot of other people did. So enjoy!
