It begins with a blurry photograph of the northern lights. She lives in Helsinki, five hours and more than seven thousand kilometres away. Orm knows almost nothing about her-not her real name, not what she looks like, and certainly not why someone who claims to be bored by the aurora seems so determined to make her laugh. What begins as a few sarcastic messages slowly becomes something neither of them intended. Somewhere between good mornings sent before the other has gone to bed, photographs of ordinary days, late-night conversations, ridiculous arguments and promises made across different time zones, a stranger becomes a friend.
