The process of writing has always been full of thoughts,... struggling, and wonderful thoughts. Any writer can admit to encountering writer's block, and searching the internet for helpful tips. This is the process of what being a writer is like, when they are sitting there, tapping away at the screen, but there is always something clouding their thoughts...mentally.

Short story for the Literary Fiction Network contest where the prompt is to capture the struggle of a writer in 700 words or less. Being that alcohol and writers tend to go hand-in-hand, I chose to write a story about a poet plagued by writer's block, excessively drinking Hennessy to get the juice flowing again. What follows is a self-critical lens of sadistic depreciation and inner eye's surreal journey of reaching towards truth while locked away in its physical vessel. Also, the title and indeed drink itself is inspired by 2pac.

Solace is a short story series. Each story is a new character with a new dilemma and a different solution. It's a series about sadness, loss, betrayal, pride, death, happiness, injury, faith, humanity and much more. These are stories about real issues.
