♟️🗝️ Set in the late 1930s and early 1940s, the story unfolds across the grand estates of two families whose fortunes and influence have been built over generations. The Fontaines and the Hadleys are bound by history, business, and carefully maintained appearances, yet rivalry and hierarchy shape every interaction within and between their households. The world they inhabit is one of polished floors, sunlit gardens, and shadowed corridors; a world in which wealth and lineage dictate worth, and social expectation weighs heavier than desire. Each family moves within its own rhythm, defined by tradition, discipline, and the inheritance of power, while the larger world edges toward war, shifting both perception and opportunity. Through the gaze of the younger generation, the story captures the tension of inherited expectation and the fragility of relationships shaped by legacy. It is a tale of households governed by hierarchy, of children raised to respect, observe, and measure, and of a society poised on the brink of upheaval. The aesthetic is slow, intimate, and precise: sun-drenched afternoons, stormy evenings, quiet corners where glances carry meaning, and every gesture, every word, is laden with consequence.

No Longer Human (Japanese: 人間失格, Hepburn: Ningen Shikkaku), also translated as A Shameful Life, is a 1948 novel by Japanese author Osamu Dazai. It tells the story of a troubled man incapable of revealing his true self to others, and who, instead, maintains a façade of hollow jocularity, later turning to a life of alcoholism and drug abuse before his final disappearance. The original title translates as "Disqualified as a human being" or "A failed human".The book was published one month after Dazai's suicide at the age of 38. No Longer Human is considered a classic of postwar Japanese literature and Dazai's masterpiece. It enjoys considerable popularity among younger readers and ranks as the second best-selling novel by publishing house Shinchōsha, behind Sōseki Natsume's Kokoro. Added with entertaining illustrations to make it more enjoyable and understandable. Mostly found in Pinterest, so credits to the respectful owners of the images presented in each parts.

SAN FRANCISCO SERIES 2 Some loves are simply about being present for the duration of what's real, about choosing someone with full knowledge of the cost, about walking toward the edge because the view along the way is worth the falling. I walked toward it. She was worth every step. And maybe that's what makes it what it is. Not tragic. That word is too easy, too dramatic, too borrowed from stories that haven't earned it. Just true. Just real. Just the specific weight of two people who loved each other within the limits of their circumstances, who tried within the architecture of almosts they'd built around themselves, who were - from the very beginning, from the first haiku pressed into her hands at a café table in San Francisco - always going to be almost. Never quite ours. In every universe, I find you first. Even saying goodbye.

He was raised between two worlds-but belonged to neither. Henrick Benticks, the polished son of a powerful British businessman, grew up beneath the heavy shadow of Empire in Calcutta. He spoke English with inherited authority and Bangla with stolen intimacy. He ate fish and chips at formal tables, and ilish bhapa in the warm chaos of Bengali homes. Literature was his quiet rebellion-the life he was never allowed to live. Instead, he became a businessman, a critic of stories he never dared to write, and a man who learned to observe emotions rather than feel them. Until he saw her. Monomohini was nothing more than a maid in his mansion. Invisible by design. Replaceable by status. But she carried herself with a quiet elegance that did not belong to servitude. Her words were precise. Her eyes were knowing. Her silence was not submission-it was restraint. Beneath her obedience lived a secret life he could not see, and that mystery drew him like gravity draws a falling star. Henrick fell first. Helplessly. Recklessly. What began as curiosity became obsession. What became obsession became love. But love, in their world, was not permitted. When her family arranged her marriage, Henrick did the unthinkable. He destroyed her future to claim her for himself. He forced tradition to bend. He forced society to choke on scandal. He forced her to become his wife. He was wrong. Because Monomohini was never fragile. She was never powerless. And she was never his. He believed he had rescued her. He believed he knew her. He was wrong. Because Monomohini was never just a maid. And the most dangerous stories are the ones written by those no one notices. Some stories begin with love. This one begins with a mistake.
