"bro, the next period is maths. wanna bunk?"
kiara leaned against the corridor wall, dressed in her school uniform, her tie hanging loosely around her neck. her layered bob framed her face as she glanced at her friend, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"kiara, are you sure? we have mathematics right now. and you know how strict tania ma'am is."
"please. one class won't kill us."
"that's what you said last time, and we ended up getting suspended from chemistry lab for 2 weeks."
"character development."
"that's not what character development means‐---"
"well, now you will."
a familiar voice interrupted them.
kiara slowly turned around.
aryan stood a few feet away, dressed in his proper school uniform. his shirt was neatly tucked in, his tie perfectly in place, and the head boy badge gleamed against his chest. his hair was slightly tousled, and he pushed his glasses upward with one hand.
he looked like he had been waiting for this exact moment.
"first of all, you two are supposed to be in class. second of all, kiara, you're not even trying to hide the fact that you're bunking."
kiara straightened herself against the wall.
"first of all, aryan, you're just the head boy of the school, not my personal warden. and second of all, i was just--"
"bunking."
"aryan."
"kiara."
"don't you have, like, a head boy meeting or something?"
"don't you have, like, a mathematics class or something?"
she narrowed her eyes at him.
"you're so annoying."
"and you're going to class."
"you can't tell me what to do."
aryan glanced at her friend, then back at kiara.
"would you like me to call your class teacher?"
kiara immediately pushed herself away from the wall.
"you know what? i suddenly love mathematics."
her friend burst into laughter.
aryan simply adjusted his head boy badge.
"glad to hear that."
