Janey Nye didn't find out until she was a teenager, that her childhood ability to lucid dream was special. By the time she realized not everybody could tell that they were dreaming and control the subject matter of said dreams; she'd lost the ability. Later in life, under the influence of a nicotine patch, Janey spends a night in exhausting but exhilarating lucid dreams and immediately decides she must somehow get the ability back to do it every night. People have varying reasons why they want to lucid dream. To fly. To visit the sun. To have sex with movie stars. To be reunited with deceased loved ones. To conjure winning lottery numbers. Janey Nye has one, and one reason only that she endeavors to train herself to lucid dream. She wants to see what it's like to commit suicide. Soon caught in a strange world where the lines between dream and reality become dangerously blurred, Janey must find a way to escape the darkness in the place between dreams.

Her parents are so overprotective; she's never even been allowed to cut her hair. Zoe Locke feels neglected and ignored, so much so that she begins breaking and entering in and around Faraway; just for kicks. Enter the three Bars. One night, on the cusp of a blizzard, Zoe burglarizes the fairytale like home of the uber wealthy Bar family. What she discovers in their basement sends her into a terrified frenzy, especially when the family unexpectedly returns while she is still inside the home. She breaks her leg while escaping, and is eventually apprehended by Officer Hook. Zoe Locke is sent to juvenile detention and nobody believes her desperate pleas to investigate the Bars. Unfortunately, the oversight on the part of local law enforcement will cost many lives, and the disappearances of numerous Faraway teens. A series of dastardly events is triggered by Zoe's infraction that will bring the town of Faraway to its knees. All involved will learn, there is no happily ever after.

Hank, the Hitchhiker wakes from what he hoped was a hellish nightmare but evidence of his burnt scarred body reminds him of what has happen. His captor looks upon him with an evil grin with anticipation of next acts of torment he will bestow onto him.

But where did they go? Willow is fifteen years old and is different from everyone else in the village. She always wanted to discover what else was in the world but was always kept in her village by the creatures that lurked in the woods. At first it's a secret when she plans her escape into the woods until her long time friends discovers her secret. Though her friend doesn't want her to leave, he helps her plan her way through the forest and exactly what do when she finds a creature. Of course, there is one important thing she must remember if she really doesn't want to come across a creature...stay away from the bad color.

Consequences - the game where we write a short story by passing it around a table. Each person takes it in turns to write a line. To make it more interesting, they can only see the line before theirs. Everything else, including the start of the story, is hidden until the writing is over and the paper unfolded. Our Fantasy writing session began with the phrase "Of all the things to enchant it had to be..." Among the things our writers chose to enchant in their short stories were: a screen projector, a pastry bun, a swarm of bees, and even the freaking sky! And many more.

Detective Andrea Jonas is a young woman who is assigned to her most difficult case when three teenage girls go missing. She has her eyes on an eccentric man named Kevin Wendell Crumb, a man with 24 personalities/alters. Andrea doesn't want to believe he could be a suspect at first, but the more she watches him and observes his seemingly erratic behavior, all the evidence falls into place. Her fight to save the girls will take her down a terrifying road. This story is just for fun, because I enjoy the movie Split for the thrills and chills. However, I do think mental illnesses should stop being portrayed as scary in horror movies.
