Map of the Soul: 7 is the fourth Korean-language (seventh overall) studio album by South Korean boy band BTS. The album was released on February 21, 2020, by Big Hit Entertainment. It is the follow-up to their 2019 extended play Map of the Soul: Persona. The album was announced by the group on January 7, 2020, with pre-orders starting on January 9.[2] On January 9, the group released the official "comeback trailer" for their album, titled "Interlude: Shadow", performed by member Suga.[3] A "comeback map" for the album was released on January 8, revealing a schedule split into four phases. The map included multiple dates, including the release dates for the albums two singles.[4][5] The album's first single "Black Swan" was released on January 17, alongside an "art film" featuring choreography performed by the Slovenian MN Dance Company.[6] The group performed "Black Swan" for the first time on the The Late Late Show with James Corden on January 28.[7][8] The band released a second comeback trailer featuring J-Hope's song "Outro: Ego" on February 2.[9] The group will embark on their Map of the Soul Tour in April 2020.[10] From February 9 through February 12, the band released a collection of four different series of concept photos, "offering fans new insights into what to expect from the album", according to Paper's Matt Moen.[11] On February 16, Big Hit announced that the album would have a total of twenty songs, including a collaboration with Australian singer Sia.[12] On February 20, a 30-second clip of the lead single "On" was released on TikTok.[13]

Just One Day, the Boy In Luv will cause a War On Hormone, and Danger for all. The happiness and Dope will fade and burn into Fire. BTS will finally rest, be Young Forever in an angel choir. Agust is approaching and Spring Day is far. Their skin emits Blood, Sweat, Tears and many scars. They fly like Airplanes as if they were in a Daydream. Not Today will BTS Come Back Home to other screams. However trapped and alone in Singularity...They all sing "Save me". Freedom is all they want...please Give It To Me. Their skin stresses their loved one's DNA. But don't worry, this world is only grey and for play. Time to discover the truth and for the Fake Love to stop. In the future, is there a way out? Or will it all end, in a simple Mic Drop.
