Everything has it's place. When things are in order, more stuff gets done. Classes are done that same way, same order, every day. But, a teacher he has to work closely with many times over has a different view of how a class should be run. Avi Kaplan has always been a laid back guy. His classes, a mess of noisy students with no respect for others. Everything he has has a place, where ever he leaves it. He dresses in casual clothes, in beanies. He thrives on disorder. When these two work together, with so many projects, so many things that take both out of their one minded world views. When Mitch's very foundation is shook up, it is up to Avi to teach him to live disorderly.

Mitch is an aspiring artist who suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder and due to the severity of his case doctors often give up on him and see him as a lost cause because of his unwillingness to cooperate with them. But when Mitch meets his new doctor something about him catches his eye.
