Poppy Bryar is a 16 year old girl with a best friend, Frank. Their platonic relationship confuses everyone but each other, but things start to change for Frank when Poppy gets involved with somebody else.

Gerard is new to the school.. he finally got kicked out of his old one, now being forced to go to school with Mikey, not that's it's a bad thing. unlike what people would thing, Gerard and Mikey get along great..it's just other people that bugs Gerard. he sticks out like a sore thumb, hes soft spoken and has pretty feminine features as well as dressing up in pastel clothes (skirts). he gets into fights a lot and he's not afraid to stick up for himself but it gets tiring so he normally lets his bully's do whatever they need. at his new school he meets Frank. he's known to not let people push him the wrong way and he'll call you out on your bullshit. Frank finds Gerard...uh, interesting. it's hard to tell what Gerard is thinking most times and that really bugs Frank. Gerard tends to be in his own and Frank wants to change that...but how can he? Gerard will forever be known as the "cross dresser" and Frank will always be seen as "too good" for Gerard.

However, when Frank arrives for his freshman year at St. John's College in Maryland, he can no longer ignore it. Whatever he forgot is still with him, pestering, eating away at his conscience. In the sleepless hours between classes, Frank confides in an anonymous keypal known only as d3adsy, whose messages feel uncannily attuned to his fears. What Frank doesn't know is that d3adsy is Gerard: his preppy, uptight, transcendentalist-obsessed dormmate. Together, the two embark on a journey to recover memory, tragedy, and contrition online and in the real world, slipping into a bit of folie a deux along the way.

Between the rivalry of two punk rockers, a little road trip and even more confusing feelings, things don't always turn out the way you think they will.

it's the middle of the 2004 tour and the burnout is starting to set in. gerard is losing himself in the red and black suits and the character he plays on stage, and frank is the only one who really notices how far he's slipping. the silence between them is getting heavier every day, even as they find something worth saving in each other. it's a story about the messy parts of being in love when you're both falling apart, and how the person who spends all their time keeping you alive might be the one you end up losing.

This is the sequel to my previous story, Forever and Always. Frank and Gerard are happily married, with two adopted boys.
