A messy apartment. A glowing tablet.
Jane sketches characters she doesn't quite believe in, until her bathroom floods for no reason.
Water on the floor. Everywhere.
"And it's coming from my bathroom??"
Then, "WTF... why is there a man in my house?"
A tall stranger stands there. Wet hair. Sea-colored eyes. Too handsome to be real. Completely lost.
"Lucas...?" he whispers and collapses.
Jane is 27, a web cartoonist with a lazy routine, a cute personality, and a mind sharper than she lets on. Her life revolves around deadlines, doodles, and doing the bare minimum - until a mysterious stranger crash into her world.
His name is Zael. He isn't human.
And he was never meant to be here.
Zael is a merman, new to land, kind to a fault, bound by one rule above all else.
"Don't get involved with humans."
He thinks he can follow it. Until he meets Jane.
But while Jane is busy hiding a merman in her apartment, someone else is watching.
"They said I imagined it," a voice says from the shadows. "Now I'll make the world believe."
Dr. Berner, a scientist obsessed with proving the existence of mystical creatures-has spent his life hunting what no one else believed in. And now, he has proof.
Behind glass. In an aquarium.
"LUCAS!" Zael shouts. "That's my brother!"
Jane stares at the tank, heart racing. "HOW IS HE IN THERE?!"
Between dodging mad scientists, uncovering secrets of the ocean, and falling for someone she was never supposed to meet, Jane is pulled into a world far deeper than fiction.
"Are you ready for this?" Zael asks.
"I am never," Jane replies. "But let's get your brother back."
Because some secrets were never meant to surface.
But what happens when they do?
And what will it cost to love someone who belongs to the sea?
