Short poem from my experience with harassment and intimidation

Two years of war with herself finally leads to the day she tries to leap from the roof of her apartment building. A split second before she throws herself into the air, she's caught by a random stranger who eventually starts to get to her. Its a love story, but definitely not a common one.

For two (coming up on three) years I have been fighting a constant war. On my diagnosis, on my subconscious, on my (lack of) self love, on myself. I, to this day, have days where instead of making it onto here, my poetry is written in the little bubbles of blood coming from my arms. The biggest thing I have come to learn in my struggle is that I didn't ever want to die, I wanted my life as I knew it to end. I hope you enjoy my poetry, lovelies. After many long months at St. Mary's Home for Unwed Mothers, Izzy is returning home to her former life. Although she's longed for this moment, she can't help feeling like a stranger in her own home. As hard as she tries, she can't heal the deep wound that she's been left with, and it doesn't help that everyone is acting as if nothing has changed.
