Verity crashed through the sky in a shower of comets with a mission. But when she landed, she suffered memory loss so she had no idea why she wanted to go to this planet. A girl named Noelle finds herself severely hurt in a crater, broken and bloodied. Noelle takes her back to a secret shed in the woods to keep her safe from her toxic parents and goes there every so often after school to check up on Verity. Once Verity hears that the planet will be overheated in 50 years, she remembers why she wanted to come to Earth: to save the planet. Verity explains to Noelle that there is a very toxic substance that is causing a disruption on the planet, causing it to overheat. If Earth explodes, then the Milky Way will die and wither, and so will Verity's planet. Noelle decides to help her travel to the various power plants to see who is corrupting the Earth with this toxic substance, and recruits her friend, Mikey.

"Humans have an addiction to knowledge; Knowledge of how things work, Knowledge of why things work, and the knowledge of how to destroy things." He paused and smiled coldly, flashing his razor canines in the green light of the lab. "And I, for one, don't fancy a colony of power hungry Humans coming after me, or my kind" His face shifted fluidly from that of a predator, to something emotionless. "I was just looking at the stars for goodness sake!" She hissed, backing away from him. Angry was easy to run from, emotionless a lot harder. His thick, dark brows furrowed as she spoke, leaving him glowering. "Were you not seeking knowledge of the universe while you were 'just looking'?" His voice was sharp, matching his teeth. She only answered him with silence, any need to explain herself dead within her. "Exactly. Don't bother. You've been looking too long to just be curious." And with that, her beautifully aggressive 'star boy' was, probably, star-ward bound; taking his beauty, husky voice and hatred for her kind with him.

This is a short story where two souls lost in space find one another again. They've been alone drifting in the dark for so long they'd forgotten how it felt to be together. They feels things again and they love again. But why is everything moving so fast? Why are they slowing down? Why does it feel wrong? This is something I wrote a really long time ago. Now it's been through countless drafts since then of me just revisiting and redoing the entire story so its very different from what it was. During that time I was going through a really depressed phase and although I did not intend for it to it definitely did show through in my writing. The first drafts often felt like a metaphor for depression and in some ways it still does but the ending is not a good one. I want to point out that if you yourself deal with depression this story may have a sad ending but yours doesn't. I've been through the worst of it and I can say that I felt like there was no way out and that it would never get better but it does. It doesn't get perfect but it gets easier. Anyways I hope you enjoy the story and I really love feedback and would love to hear what you think and any comments you may have!
