Balthazar Bratt and Cyril Macintosh used to be inseparable.
Two of the 1980's greatest child stars - one Hollywood's beloved rebellious bad boy, the other the brilliant prodigy production designer behind his career-making role. Bal and Cy may not have always gotten along, but they were the only ones who truly understood each other. Sometimes fierce rivals, sometimes the best of friends, but always together, as two sides of the same twisted coin. The actor and his entourage. The artist and his muse.
But Balthazar and Cyril aren't friends anymore. An unforgivable act drove them apart decades ago, and they haven't spoken since. So when Cyril breaks Balthazar out of the AVL's highest-security prison, Balthazar is shocked to discover that his childhood friend, now known to the world only as "Cyberwave", is a talented and dangerous supervillain in his own right - and he wants Balthazar's help to take revenge against the industry and the world that left them both behind.
But old wounds are hard to heal, and both men are harboring secret resentments and dark insecurities. As the tension rises, Balthazar and Cyril must finally decide what they truly are to each other - and how to live with it - before it destroys them both.
