When Jessie was 14 years old she met a boy named Mark in her hometown, Cincinnati, Ohio. They were the best of friends up until she was 16 years old and moved out to Ontario, Canada with her family. She completely forgot about Mark by her 18th birthday. When she turned 25 she moved out to L.A to become a singer, but what she didn't know was that Mark lived there too, in the same apartment building, and what was even weirder was that they didn't even recognize each other until a long time after they start hanging out again.

Only to find a young girl, age of 14 named Caitlin Elanabeth, crying her eyes out. Mark manages to get information from her that her mom kicked her out. He persuaded her to live with him for a while. Later on Mark developed an attachment to Caitlin, like his own child, but he has no Idea what her past is like, and what will she soon become.
