Maya and Carina didn't think that one sigle second could change their entire existance, but when a butterfly starts to flutter her wings, they discover what it means to live the butterfly effect. Maya Bishop remembers being iced out by her team, she remembers being on the verge of breaking down every shift as the new captain of 19, and she most definitely remembers wanting to get away from all the noise, and so she ran, ran towards an open captain position in LA and it might've been the best decision she had ever made. But now? now it had been 5 years since she had seen the people she once called family. So what happens when she takes a job in Seattle as their new battalion chief. Maya and Carina have been trying to get pregnant for the longest time. From IVF, to failed donors, the two begin to give up hope on ever becoming a family. Carina starts to become slightly depressed and begins to blame herself for not being able to conceive, Maya becomes emotional thinking about the difficult journey. Maya and Carina are just about ready to give up on the family plans, that is until Maya and Carina get the best news of their lives. Carina is an OB/GYN doctor at Grey's Sloan Memorial Hospital, Maya is the fire captain of Station 19, here's an insight to their lovely romantic story

Running is what Maya has always been good at, whether it be for exercise or from her pain. It's the knowing when to stop part that always gets her into trouble. Maya is struggling to adapt to her new role as Captain of Station 19. Will she be able to keep her declining mental health a secret, or will it all fall apart? There may or may not be some mentions of heavy drinking, reckless behavior/self-harm and disordered eating patterns. I do not own any of these characters, merely just fanfiction.
