After his death, Meredith receives all of Derek's belongings from his mother, Carolyn Shepherd. Amongst his things, she finds a box filled with journals. His mother explains that he started writing in them when he was a first year resident as coping mechanism, as well as to let his kids discover who he was and what his life was like in his younger days. She also adds that he lost his medical school files and his first-year resident journal was given to Addison. While Derek had been a straight-laced normal guy who starts to look at life differently when he meets his new resident.

She started taking oxy and it lead to her fiancé overdosing and her baby without a brain. It lead her to recover until her only brother, the man she looked up to the most, died. She's lost herself again and can't get it together.

I wanted to do a story of George since there aren't a lot* Internship was the one thing I wanted to focus on at Seattle Grace and hide my big secret but when a green eyed curly haired intern entered the picture everything changed.
