Love is strange. Love is a hand that pulls you out of the water when you're drowning, but doesn't wait for you to swim. Love lights a candle for you in the dark, but burns out when the path clears. Love feels like a rose, when you don't notice the thorns. But what happens when you see them? What happens when you learn to fear them? Do you still touch it? ___________________________________________ The Ranawat family has always had one plan for their eldest daughter- to get her married into royalty, securing both her future and a powerful alliance. But Devika's always fallen behind on the concept of love, let alone marriage. She has never understood it- or, never yet tried to. Torn between her sense of responsibility towards her younger sisters, and the duty imposed upon her by her family, Devika finds herself caught in a dilemma she didn't ask to be part of. So when she encounters an unexpected stranger, will she finally learn how to turn her imminent fate into something more... liberating? "Oh, but what a strange thing it is, truly." ___________________________________________ Original work by and collaboration between @author_ann_ari_ and @SnowoStaring68

Much to her dismay, his warm touch kept resonating every fibre of her being. A touch so gentle as if a dew trickled down a green blade of grass. It was an urgency for him to set aside the wild lock away her bright face. It was involuntary in a nutshell. He was bewildered when choked in her own words. The very next while he was proud enough to feel how puzzled he made him; the effect of him on her was indeed undeniable. "So, where was I?" She stammered, blinking cluelessly. A hue of ripe vermillion heated her face, not going unnoticed by him. 'In my heart'. His words dared not to pass through his tongue. ................................................................. The wild beast unaware of its predator, stopped by a brook within the woods. He stretched his bow-string after brushing aside the cordate leaves hanging from the low branches. Why did you wait for it to turn to you? It was too risky." His companion Dhiraj enquired. "A true warrior always fights from the front, whoever the opponent be." He replied as they strolled out of the dense woods.
