The story is about an old man who stops in a bar for one last drink before going home. He reflects on his life, both the good and the bad, and comes to the realization that he has lived a good life. He is grateful for the good times he has had, and he is ready to face whatever the future may bring. The story is set in a small town, and the bar is a familiar place for the old man. He has been there many times in his younger days, and he has had some good times there. The bar is crowded and the music is loud, but the old man doesn't mind. He is content to sit at the bar and watch the people. He sees young couples laughing and talking, old friends catching up, and people who are just starting out in life, and he is reminded of all the different stages of life that he has experienced. The old man takes a sip of his beer and closes his eyes. He savors the taste, and he is transported back in time to his younger days. This is the third of a set of one-shots before I start into my longer piece I have planned. The longer piece may diverge a bit from these one-shots, but this is getting some of the concepts and ideas out. This one I ended up rewriting and reworking until I got something I liked. This works with the theory that the Alteans and Galra are the same, but that Shiro and Keith are blood related.
