We all know the story about the Little Mermaid . . . well . . . Here's what REALLY happened ***Please note the character names are inspired by the famous characters but this particular story is an original twisted tale of my own creation. 🌹❤️ Thanks Everyone!

You didn't like the ocean. The water felt like it would burn (and it does). Your lungs would give out sooner than others and you didn't even know how to swim! You never asked for this trip, never asked to be here. Yet, here you are, stuck all alone and waiting for rescue that probably would never come. Or, well, not really alone. The burning gaze of something in the water wouldn't leave yours.

(Apologies if my stories don't come out completely canon, believe it or not I don't actually know everything about Leviathantale-) The ships will most likely be a bit different too, since I don't like Dreammare nor do I see any of the MTT being mates with Nightmare. (No hate, just my opinion!) Marina Ventura is an outspoken, rude and careless mermaid who is being charged for a crime she didn't commit. She's being sentenced to a year in service of the Queen down in Deltyra, an underwater city where most northern mermaids live. Rowan Ray is a quiet mermaid who spends her days hunting for food with her friends and traveling to land. Rowan's life has been as perfect as it could get, and it's only going to get better! The Prince has asked for her hand in marriage because of her immense beauty and mystery. Unfortunately, this isn't what Rowan wanted for her life. When the two first meet things couldn't be worse; both are prisoners to the royal family, stuck inside a large stone castle, thousands of meters below sea level. Things are looking pretty bleak, so how could things possibly get any better?

Erica meets a boy from the sea, a merman named Nocte. Obviously, they become the best of friends and even closer. When Erica had to move away from her hometown she discovered a side to Notce that made her never wanted to return, now older she encounters the mermaid species again.

Valonia's sister has run away in the pursuit of love. There's only about a million things wrong with that situation. First, they are Oceanides, known as mermaids by the upper world. Second, her sister's love interest is a Human, which risks the exposure of her kind. To keep such an occurrence from happening, Valonia vows to find her sister and bring her back. Only, she has to cross the most dangerous part of the ocean and keep from getting caught herself. ***A short story written for a contest, where the prompt was to write about a mermaid going after her sister, who ran away for a human she fell in love with. This prompt was FUN! Please enjoy!***
