At the time Brave is set in, the Highlanders spoke Gaelic, so the fanfic is not totally historically accurate because I based it on medieval Lowlands English. If there's anything wrong or I messed up some terms and expressions, I'm sorry in advance. English is not even my first language, I just felt like the story would be more immersive if Merida had an authentic accent.
