Starting at the beginning of Season 4, Lancelot and Merlin manage to close the rift without a sacrifice. With Arthur curious about magic, Merlin finds himself revealing his talents to the most trusted of the knights and to the prince. Together they decide that they will bring magic back to Camelot when Arthur becomes king. Also, a funny Merlin meme in every chapter. For no reason, just cause I liked them. And I don't own Merlin, obviously. Just the story.

Arthur finds out about Merlin's destiny but not everything was clear

Merlin had been coping with all the hurtful words that Arthur said to him. But what if once Arthur went too far, or Merlin broke? Which one would come first? Arthur will only realise how important his young servant is to him when he is the closest to lose him. scar/magic reveal I do not own anything, everything belongs to BBC, this is just a fanfic. Merlin lays his life on the line to save Arthur yet again, only this time there are witnesses, lots of them. Only Arthur prevents him going to the headman's axe straight away, but Arthur alone cannot save him. That is up to both of them. The king feels no guilt when he enters the couple's home, killing both Balinor and Hunith as they try desperately to protect their son. But, instead of having the child meet the same fate Uther decides to keep the young dragonlord as a form of token. A spoil of war. So, once he returns he locks the boy away somewhere deep in Camelot's dungeons. Merlin remains there for years, alone and afraid until one day a young prince finds him.

The day Arthur's worst nightmare became a reality was the day Gwen burst into his chamber out of breath, tears down her face. Then she tells him Merlin has been sent to the dungeons because of Lady Catrina! He then goes to confront his father. Inspired by Even Then by elirwen on AO3

He only heard a faint bump when he should have heard something a lot louder. Merlin's fears from the previous day came true as he sat there in bed trying to process it. The ringing had gone, but he still couldn't hear anything. OR Merlin gets injured in a fight and is rendered temporarily deaf. He doesn't want Arthur to find out, but he does anyway. Angst and hurt/comfort ahead.

When both Gwen and Merlin witness another accident caused by Morgana's magic, there is no more denying. Despite Gaius' strong advice against it, Merlin decides to help Morgana and tell her and Gwen about his magic. Meanwhile, Arthur follows Merlin to Morgana's chambers to inform him that he needs to let her rest and should absolutely not be bringing her flowers. Because she needs to rest. No other reason of course. Nope. Set in the episode 2x03 The Nightmare Begins.

Arthur has returned and Merlin is overjoyed, but Arthur has no idea how to live in the 21st century. Merlin must teach the man to live again and they discover secrets along the way. a little collection of adventures Arthur and Merlin find as Arthur learns about the new world. they are technically oneshots, but they mostly connect in a story line. does that make sense?

Ending to BBC series Merlin alteration. *contains ending spoilers* What would happen to Arthur and Merlin if Arthur didn't die that day? What if someone took his place? This is the tale of two very uncertain lovers still unsure about each other, especially considering that Arthur now knows about magic. Enjoy the read!

While on a camping trip, Merlin was obviously exhausted as he'd been acting strange all day. As he falls asleep, Gwaine finds a small leather bound journal hidden away in the servants coat, which he soon learns is a journal. He reads a few to himself, then to the Knights. They all soon realize how sad and how seemingly alone Merlin believes he is. They all realize, just how little they know about Merlin. [Hint: The Knights and Arthur learn about Freya!]

4x05 what if. In which the cloak Merlin wears at the start of the episode is Arthur's and Merlin learns just how much of a possessive prat Arthur is. One shot.

When Merlin had arrived within earshot, Arthur asked: "What took you so long?" "I'm sorry, sire." Arthur frowned, he had been waiting for a sarcastic reply from his friend but Merlin's answer was anything but that. Now he noticed how Merlin didn't look at his direction and his usual smiling was gone. "What happened?" Arthur asked with low tone. "Nothing." When Merlin still didn't look at him, he grabbed his friend's arm trying to get his attention. Merlin lifted his gaze, now surprised by the sudden touch. Their eyes met and Arthur saw a sadness in his friend's eyes. ____ Merlin was the prince of Airasan until the whole kingdom was taken and he had to flee. Now he's at Camelot as a manservant but what happens when some knights of Airasan come to seek for help to get their kingdom back. Is Merlin ready for his destiny? And what about his other destiny? Aithusa's very excited when she learns her first words, but it only causes problems when she follows Merlin back to Camelot to share her talents with him. Especially when she won't stop flying and shouting new words that she has learned from Merlin - and when Arthur happens to witness all of it right when he wanted to get some rest after training. COMPLETED. Merlin thought his Soulpoetry, a "two sides" inscription on his sternum, was about his life, trying to hide his magic all the time. Arthur thought that his Soulpoetry, an "of the same coin" scrawl on the base of his fingers, referred to the fact that he led a very dull Pendragon life. It had been 5 years since Arthur gone, Camelot is surviving but Merlin is not. How will he over come? Arthur is coming back and the world is in a pause, only person who can fix it is Merlin.
