Starting at the beginning of Season 4, Lancelot and Merlin manage to close the rift without a sacrifice. With Arthur curious about magic, Merlin finds himself revealing his talents to the most trusted of the knights and to the prince. Together they decide that they will bring magic back to Camelot when Arthur becomes king. Also, a funny Merlin meme in every chapter. For no reason, just cause I liked them. And I don't own Merlin, obviously. Just the story.

The crowd. The fire. The empty look in Morgana's eyes. Everyone watching Arthur Pendragon die. It was warm. Almost comforting. If it hasn't been for the smoke, I might have even enjoy this. "STOP!" A loud yell from the sky. A dragon flying in. The crowd screaming and dissolving. The hateful look in Morgana's eyes. The man jumped off the violent creature, waved his hand in my direction, and the flames were out. Complete silence. Not even the dragon was breathing. It almost seemed as terrified of the man that rode him as the people where of him. The sky was dark now. Darker than it had been. It started pouring, but the rain was silent too. "WE HAD A DEAL!" The man yelled. His voice higher than a dragon's roar. The dragon stepped back, whimpering by the dragonlord. Last one, I would guess, as I was there when the other last one was killed. "Emrys." Morgana's voice was filled with venom.

Merlin's secret is revealed to Arthur whilst on a hunting trip. Merlin then has to struggle with new revelations that might make his life a lot more complicated. Merthur. (I own nothing of Merlin).

One day on a hunting trip a sorcerer is about to blast Arthur intil Merlin jumps in front of him and gets blasted instead. One night Merlin enters Prince Arthur's room to drop off his polished armour and cleaned clothing. Much to his surprise, Merlin leaves knowing much more than he entered with.

Summary: In a place of the past, and a time of modern culture, the destiny of a seemingly random guy rests on the shoulders of a young boy. His name... Merlin. Or, Arthur gets lost, runs into Merlin, who is equally lost, and something beautiful becomes of it.

Merlin's walking past the lake of Avalon. It's the 21st century and he's hundreds of years old, but looks about 25. He stops and gazes at the lake, eyes heavy with all he'd seen in this world, his bright smile long gone, his happiness taken away long time ago in this very spot, perhaps permanently.
