The setting for this divergent timeline is set three years ahead (2014) with some references that may be ahead of its time (say from 2020-current year). The floating timeline isn't applied to TDWOG anymore, which indicates that young characters like Gumball, Darwin, and other peers have now aged up to 13-16 years old, amplifying their personalities in a more grounded setting.
