"When the sky cracked, not only buildings, but only buildings collapsed; it was humanity itself." Scientists have called the "Galaxy Nexus" a harmless ice ball. They were wrong. When the massive and fragile meteor hit Earth, it didn't just cause destruction-it injected "Stardust" into the veins of survivors. Zane lost everything that day. His home, his father, his memories, and the sound of his mother's voice. Now, he is left with an uncontrollable purple glow beneath his skin and mountains of medical bills for his comatose mother. Astraea Academy offered him a way out: "Give him your power, and we will save your mother." But behind the academy's flawless walls lurks a threat more terrifying than physical strength. A dark shadow that seeps into minds and stains memories like black ink: Ink. To save his mother, Zane must fight not only the monsters outside but also the darkness inside his own mind. In a world of light and shadow, your greatest enemy is not the one throwing punches at you-but what do you think?

A short story about a childish troodon and grumpy enantiornith who go on a quest to the Second Sun despite their clashing personalities. When they both realize that they are each essentially alone in life, though, they end up becoming each other's family. ~ Hi! This is a short story I wrote for my Creative Writing class in school. It's supposed to be historical fiction, but I don't exactly think that it fits if that makes sense (most historical fiction stories are often about early and pre 1900s humans, at least that I've seen). I got pretty good feedback for it which bolstered my own pride in it, so I figured I might as well post it here! I hope you enjoy :)
