Misa and Light get into a fight about how much time she's been spending with L. She runs out of his apartment and starts to cry, L finds her, and she brings him home to eat because he's hungry. They eventually confess and Misa realizes she doesn't love Light, she loves L.

This is my take on the events after the death of L. Considering how the sudden inclusion of an 'officer' during Higuchi's arrest gave away subtle hints about the existence of a death note, things unfolded in a very odd way (at least, according to me). So, in my story that officer doesn't exist. Everything continues thereafter...
