Midnightsky is a fierce, feral tom, and a devout member of the Black Katz: an evil band of rogues who wish to claim complete power and dominance over the forest and its inhabitants, despite whatever pain and suffering they must cause in order to do so. All his life, Midnightsky had been taught to be ruthless. Raised under a dark, malicious leader, Middy would do anything to prove his worth to his group--even if it means killing some cats in the process. It also turns out that Middy, too, has blood ties that connect him to Clan life and intertwine his story with Coalblaze's. When Coalblaze is assigned as Midnightsky's mission, the two discover that they both harbor true feelings for each other, but both have a choice to make: Does Midnightsky withhold more loyalty to his group or his newfound love? And when Coalblaze is forced to discover Middy's dark past, will she learn to accept him for his flaws, or leave him because of them?
