This story takes place during their Senior Year, 1988. Mike goes through a phase which caused him to cool off with Eleven. Lucas, who has been in love with Eleven since 4 years ago became El's shoulder to cry on. As Lucas helps Eleven through this problem, he also struggles to keep his feelings bottled up and fight the urge to steal her from his best friend Mike.

Mike doesn't know how to deal with his new feelings for Will. He can't figure out who he likes: Will or Eleven. He tries to approach the situation with Will being gay and he tries to do the "right thing", but many things could happen from this. Many things go down between Will and Eleven, and some repeats of tragic events are in store for them. Will Mike stick with Eleven, and just lead Will on, or are his feelings genuine?

Mike Wheeler is used to people liking him. Eleanor Hopper definitely does not. She's sarcastic, impossible to read, and somehow always ready with an eye roll whenever he speaks. So when Mike needs a fake girlfriend to survive the world's messiest breakup, El should be the worst possible option. Instead, she says yes. Now there are rules, public appearances, accidental jealousy, way too much hand holding, and a growing problem neither of them seems willing to talk about: maybe pretending to be in love would be easier if they actually hated each other.

This is during season 5, in filling in the blanks Of what didn't happen. Who we didn't get a reunion with (Dustin, El, Etc) and just things I imagine happening between scenes. Also gonna write the stuff that DID happen in the show too, just saying what I think their internal monologue would be saying. (Specifically Max's.) First two chapters made before the finale.
