She didn't mean to solve anything. One random afternoon, sitting in her uncle's house, Jahanvi scribbled a strange equation on a piece of paper-without thinking, without understanding. Minutes later, a plane began falling from the sky. It should have exploded. It should have destroyed everything. But it didn't. What she found inside that aircraft was impossible-a hidden room, a screen, and the same equation she had written... waiting for her. And then, something not from this world spoke to her. "You didn't learn it... you remembered it." What if your thoughts weren't just yours? What if your mind was connected to something far beyond Earth? And what if... you were chosen? A story about mystery, fear, and discovering the power you never believed you had.

A normal day turned into something I couldn't explain- my things moved, strangers watching, objects that didn't belong, roads that led nowhere... and a silence I couldn't break. I tried to speak. I couldn't. Was it just a dream... or something deeper trying to show me what I refuse to see?

𝙍𝙞𝙨𝙚...𝙤𝙧 𝙗𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧. - Oasis Awards 3rd place - Upon nearing adulthood, citizens of Aegia face the choice to risk it all. For some, it's all about the glory, and living up to their family name. For others, it's an offer of security, of knowing where their next meal is coming from. And so they make the choice to enroll in one of several Academies, where they are taught the ancient texts, the history of the realm, and the sacred runes handed down by the gods themselves. At the end of their time there, they face a series of tests to be sorted into two castes: 𝗔𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀, the elite rulers, advance to the top positions in their field, deciding what is built, what is destroyed, where taxes go...and who lives and dies. And 𝘀𝘆𝗹𝗿𝗮, the servants bound by magic to their Aelaris. Seen as little more than an appendage and status symbol, they spend their days following their Aelaris and living for their demands, completely devoted and content in their role. The bond is considered sacred. It prevents the Aelaris from ever harming their sylra while ensuring the sylra is happy to serve. It is the Rite of Ascension that determines who belongs where, a process that measures worth and potential, through the power of the gods. Rian Argon-son has always believed he was destined to join the ranks of the Aelaris, working tirelessly to prove himself worthy. Meanwhile his nemesis Ileana, born into wealth and privilege, has always seen herself as a true heir to power. Their rivalry has simmered in all their time at the Academy, and now the final testing is upon them. They may be both top of their class, but ultimately the Rite of Ascension will decide everything. Both have prepared. Neither are ready. Cover by @Merlyn_Fereira

She was never supposed to survive contact with the Ruin Core. Elara wakes up with something inside her...something ancient, conscious, and impossible to remove. It doesn't speak like a voice. It doesn't behave like a parasite. It responds. Azael is assigned to contain her. Kael knows more than he should. And the truth is worse than either of them admit. Because the Ruin Core was never just a power source. It is a thinking structure searching for stability. And Elara... is the first person it didn't destroy. It learned her. It adapted through her. Now it is becoming something neither science nor containment can separate. A shared existence. And when identity stops being singular... what remains of "self"?

There are things that happen at night that do not belong fully to dreams or to waking. Moments when the body goes still but the mind stays alert. When shadows feel deliberate. When voices sound familiar enough to answer, yet wrong enough to fear. When you are certain you are awake - and later realize you may not have been. This book is not about monsters. It is about losing control while fully conscious. What you will read here did not happen once, or in one place, or in one form. These experiences followed me across years, rooms, and stages of my life - changing shape, but never intent. Sometimes they whispered. Sometimes they watched. Sometimes they touched. Every incident in this book is real as I remember it. Some moments are clear. Others are fragments - sensations, fear, stillness, pain. Where memory faltered, emotion remained. Where certainty failed, awareness did not. If you have ever woken unable to move, if you have ever heard your name when no one was there, if you have ever felt fear before understanding why - this book may feel uncomfortably familiar. And if it doesn't, read carefully. Because once you become conscious in the dark, sleep is never entirely innocent again. Content Warning (15+) : This book contains intense descriptions of sleep-related experiences that may be disturbing for some readers. Themes include fear, loss of bodily control, altered states of consciousness, and psychological distress occurring during the night. Descriptions may trigger anxiety in readers with sleep-related disorders. Reader discretion is advised. Recommended for readers 15 years and older.

The world did not end when the meteor fell. That was the strange part. No cities collapsed, no skies burned. It crossed the night in silence, bright enough to make people pause and look up. For a moment, everything felt still. No one knew they were watching the start of something that would quietly change everything. The impact was distant. News covered it briefly, then moved on. Until the flowers appeared. They came in patches-strange blooms no one recognized. Their colors shifted softly, their petals almost alive. People were curious more than afraid. Then the gas spread. Invisible, silent, easy to ignore. It drifted through cities and homes without warning. Within days, people began to change. Not all at once. Not in the same way. A boy could warm his hands. A girl could guide water. Someone else could bend the wind just enough to feel it respond. Small things at first-but with time, they grew. Not enough to destroy the world. But enough to reshape it. Governments adapted. Systems changed. Schools began teaching control. What once seemed impossible became part of daily life. And then, it ended. Two years after the meteor, the flowers vanished. The gas faded. No new abilities appeared. But the world had already changed too much to go back. In that world lived Kai Kaiser. By all appearances, he was ordinary. No power, no sign of change. While everyone else discovered what made them different, Kai remained the same. Or so they thought. Because importance doesn't reveal itself early. While others trained their powers, Kai was learning something quieter-something harder to notice. And as the world settled into its new order, built on strength and control, it would soon become clear that power alone was never what shaped history. It was people. And somehow, against all expectations, Kai Kaiser was about to become the most important one of them all.
