This is not just a memoir. It is the story of a quiet war. During my New Year resolution to reduce sugar, I discovered that the real enemy was not sweets it was my own cravings. Every day was a battlefield. Every dessert, a temptation. Every "no" I whispered felt like a small victory. This is the story of discipline versus desire... and the fragile strength of self-control... If you ever tried quitting something you love.. then I am sure you can relate ..

After the traumatizing night that tore apart Ellie's entire family, she develops Androphobia. A fear of men. When she realizes that therapy hasn't helped her fear subside, she and her sister move to San Francisco in hopes that it'll give them both a fresh start. But when she's enrolled in Westprep, a school with boys and girls, she meets the egotistical Chase Milestone. Their encounter makes her realize that for the first time in her life, her phobia might actually be the least of her concerns. -- Chase is the stereotypical bad boy. Or at least, he was. When one of his pranks goes too far, he ruins the life of an innocent girl and devastates his mom. Now, he will do anything to destroy his bad boy rep and mend the broken relationship he has with his mother. Unfortunately for him, he accidentally bumps into a lost blonde girl searching for her class one Monday morning and his whole life is turned upside down. Literally. I guess it's just his luck that the girl has a crippling fear of men. ***This is a story about a girl with very real and serious problems and how she finds herself. It's meant to start off cliche but trust me, It's not. This story is not complete. The Girl Who Feared Men. Copyright © 2017. All Rights Reserved.

"I don't try to call myself a poet. But I know that my stuff is pretty literal, and the themes are pretty simple and on the surface." -Bo Burnham It's in the title and yet you came here, to check that I won't steer you incorrectly. Go in and have a look, at the most pathetic part of my mind: the one society hates the most, and the one that makes some people actually think. Some may be sad, happy, or inspiring: maybe even funny or offensive, but what the hell! Right? Laugh while you read the sad parts or your empathy will bum you out. Slam poetry, so...

Mind Over Matter Contest My Body is My Kingdom. I rightfully own my throne. I have an enemy who wants to take over my throne and rule my kingdom in madness. The enemy is Death and the darkness, but what if I told you that enemy is Me. The events that occur in the story about who I met is real. It gave me chills and maybe that is why I remember what happened that night so vividly. All I know is that we must accept who we are in order to control the darkness inside. Never let it overrule what is so rightfully yours.

Pain is a measure of uncomfort. We all have different pain tolerance, we can only accept so much pain in our lives until we break. My story is my breaking point and what let to it, the people and the words, the climb back up from where you are at you low is hard. I climbed from hell with my bare hands. My only request is when you are in hell give the devil my regards... (Not Complete) please vote and comment

I was terrified to dive headfirst. I was different to most of the people here, but I had to do it, or else I would fail and drown. All I needed to remind myself was to always swim up and breathe. *I do not own the original illustration that I used for the cover. All credits go to the owner.

📕| "In summary, this several-thousand-year process during which our body was optimized for running was sparked by man's evolutionary need to adapt to our environment, and this ability for adaptation is what made us suitable for life itself. The opportunity for movement meant the opportunity for life. This is how we obtained food or were able to flee when necessary. During the process, our bodies were our biochemists: they began producing substances and hormones that aided the abilities necessary for survival. Why was all this of key importance for our development and survival? And what significance does this have in our modern world? To answer these questions I am going to go back even further and answer how our ancestors were able to hunt and thus eat meat even before they invented the first stone tool. The answer is simple (while the activity itself is far from it): they chased the prey to death, literally. Meaning that if our ancestors discovered the tracks of a prey animal, then they pursued it, ran after it, and chased the animal until it died of heat exhaustion. This is because the human body has a superpower that has not developed to such efficiency in any other animal: the ability to produce increased perspiration. This, among other factors, is what makes us the best long-distance runners in the world. This is one of the reasons why we are capable of withstanding physical activity better than any other animal, for example running, fleeing. Of course, over short distances, we are slow, weak, and vulnerable. We have many disadvantages compared to other animals, but still, we are the apex predators of the animal kingdom.
