In a future where women are chattel a man follows science and tries a new path.

This very short story was inspired by Margaret Atwood's THE HANDMAID'S TALE. The setting is intentionally vague, a horrific place where women are the property of men. It is probably somewhere in the past, but it might be in the future. Or right now. #MyHandmaidsTale

In society today, women are still struggling to exercise rights over their own body. They are still striving to defy labels and dictates thrust on them by a male-driven sytem. So when a young woman is placed between a rock and a hard place, can she find hope in an impossible choice?

As the Faithful, we had to be fruitful and multiply. It was God's Word. Didn't we?

Sadie had never been to the Shredder before, but she knew it was time. She didn't want to go, no one wanted to go, but it wasn't up to her. The Men didn't like Waste after all.

Quill has lived her entire life imprisoned by the Supreme in order to generate ideas for him. A day comes when she realizes that for things to change, she will have to take a stand no matter the cost to herself. (Short Story for "The Handmaid's Tale" contest. If it's not selected, I will think about continuing it to make it into a novel).

In a world where women are the puppets of men, the Surge is the only hope.
