This is my second entry in the #MyHandmaidsTale Contest The chosen few handmaids of Gilead await their new lives in what was once O'Hare Airport. They are to be the first Ambassadors, the result of a successful trade agreement with Mexico. *****I understand this may not be able to be entered in the contest as it follows a pretty specific plot point in the TV show**********

A dark encounter with a fearful mission.

A Carrier's job is to be a surrogate for genetically engineered babies, created to be perfect members of society. They are society's hope, and all Carriers must do is act as avenues for that hope. But when Carrier 88 births a female child, she knows that baby will never grow up to have any hope of her own, but will instead be used by society for one of only three jobs a woman may have: Comforter, Caregiver, or Carrier. So when an opportunity to break the societal mold arises, Carrier 88 must decide what to do: act as an avenue of hope for society? Or for herself and the baby? In a future where women are chattel a man follows science and tries a new path.

A young woman trapped in a horrible circumstance finds assistance between the pages of a book.

What would happen if the gay marriage ruling of 2015 was ruled in favor of all those against the LGBT community. Based on The Handmaiden's Tale, this short story shows that life will go on even in the darkest of circumstances.

I did it. I created a fake President. And no one knows but me.

I imagine my daughters. In a red dress with a bonnet. In a blue dress with a hood. In a world with no choices.

A scared young mother was born into a small imprisoned building of horror and desperately searches for her babies and her own mother she was forcibly separated from while trying to navigate her emotions and those of the fellow prisoners around her as figure out what is the meaning of the suffering they are subjected to and if the light of hope she dreams about will ever fall upon her.
