In a future where women's rights have been eradicated, resistance lives on in a woman strong enough to keep a secret, to pass on her carefully guarded knowledge to others, and to risk her life for the faint hope of freedom in the future...even if that freedom won't be her own.

When her family finds themselves down on their luck, a hard-working and ambitious teen sets out on a quest to help them, risking her own freedom by protesting the New Order's abolishment of women's rights. Commissioned by THE HANDMAID'S TALE, a new Hulu Original series premiering April 26th.

In a futuristic society were individuality has been wiped out and replaced with forced unity, one individual stands out.

I sat on the hard, springy bed as she took off the bandages on my head. It seemed to take forever. Once she got them off, I heard her gasp. The picture must have looked gruesome.

Recently, wattpad has informed me about a new show on Hulu called The Handmaid's Tale, and told many other to write a max 500 word chapter, and I happily obliged. This was a fun task and I loved writing it. There was only so much to put in 500 words, so I tried to have included a lot. I'm glad to have made a small dystopian novel. Lillieth is a girl of fifteen and cut her hair off. The women in the so called city have had rules placed against themselves from the man named Government. Lillieth is in royalty and abided by her grandmother's stories that include the past that her Grandmother's grandmother have told her. At the day where Government is making an announcement, Lillieth grabs the microphone and tells the women that are located under the mansion about how many women are individual on their own terms, and can be whoever they please to be.

Sara lives at Laudbury Manor. She is an employee there; however, one might ask what use a seventeen year old girl could be to an estate already full of maids and servants. The answer is simple; She belongs to someone. Not in a romantic way, no. She is the physical possession of man who knows nothing but his own carnal self-interests. Trapped by a society that not only accepts this but condones this, and surrounded by hate, hope is the servant girl's only choice. -Entry for the #MyHandMaidsTale constest

Man pays the price in paradise

Mom warned me I would eventually sleep my life away. Why didn't I listen? .............. This is my 500 word short story inspired by Margaret Atwood's classic, "The Handmaid's Tale."

"After this much horror, the risk was greater in losing our souls to their side, in identifying as part of the machine. Later, we didn't need guns. We had routine."
