My NaNoWriMo 2019 project, an odd skypunk tale and something a little different from anything I've ever come across, like any good worldbuilding tale should be. Befriending an aloof hunter named Ryan from the outside world, with a life so different from her own, he becomes her only companion when she has no one else. When his dangerous family connections come to light, she is torn between depending on him to stay alive in the wilderness and being targeted a rebel or deserting him to save them both. As a deadly disease begins to spread, it creeps closer to her family and friends inside the skyrise community. Lark must use her empath abilities to find the antidote quickly- and find out who she truly is, in the process.
