Four days after appearing on his fired friend's show against NBC's wishes, Jimmy can feel the tension lingering in the halls of 30 Rock. Though his staff remains supportive, the cold silence from network executives speaks volumes. When news breaks that multiple NBC talk shows have suddenly been canceled-and he notices replicas of his Tonight Show mug marked down in the gift shop-Jimmy begins to fear the worst. As doubt and anxiety spiral, it takes a steady hand from Lorne to remind him not everything is as it seems-and that one decision doesn't mean the end of everything he's built.

With only two months left before his fired friend's late night show signs off for good, Jimmy receives an unexpected phone call asking him to appear as a guest and talk about the future of late night television. Jimmy wants to support his friend during a difficult moment-but there's a catch: since taking over The Tonight Show, he has never appeared on a rival network's late night program.
