it happens in different ways. movies will show you it's harsh teasing, maybe a physical beating. they won't see blood on their hands, they'll think you're fine. but inside the heartstrings have been cut, being turned away from feels like a stab that's cut open a bundle of emotion that had been sealed away from. inside, you're bleeding. everyone takes it differently. some will tolerate, the strongest people you will ever encounter. others will stand up for themselves, the bravest people to ever meet in your life. and still others will smile until, once alone, they will break down. with only the darkness there to accompany their cries, asking what they did wrong to deserve any of this. whether it be they do it to tear you down, to make themselves feel higher, more elite than you, you become the punchline of their comedy. but you hang on. and that by far makes you a phenomenon in itself.
