In 1722 CE, the Year of the Minaret's Horn, a young woman finds herself trapped in Talboa Forest in the face of an oncoming winter storm. She is given shelter by an eccentric hermit who lives deep within the forest. From this chance meeting, an unlikely friendship is born, and Ari ends up with an apprentice to his craft. He begins to teach Mai the subtleties of working with wood, stone, clays, and metal. Impressed with her appetites for learning and creativity, Ari begins teaching her other skills as well, cloaked at first as mere diverting games. Eventually, he puts these games to use, and brings Mai along when he goes to assist the Constable with a case. But there's more to Ari than anyone in Tribeca knows, a secret he's chosen to keep hidden from everyone, even the young woman who has grown to be one he calls friend. A secret with unforseen consequences. Mai harbours a secret as well, hidden so well, even she doesn't know about it until it is nearly too late.

After the war Toshiro finds his world shattered. While it's true they won it still feels like everything is falling apart. The young taicho finds his stomach and head whirling, and his social anxieties peak. Most attribute his behavioral problems as his coping mechanism, but the continued issues rolling around his head say otherwise. Disclaimer - I don't own Bleach.

She saw so many different paths for this Planetary to take, but the most predominant future she saw was a future bathed in purple vanity and green disgust, supported by a blue base of power Abi wondered what could possibly create such future. She traced the path of this future back to the present, and she saw a flash of herself, sitting at the table and holding Planetary Saturn's hand. In the vision she could see the form of someone behind her wielding Light, and she knew she'd been tricked right before she felt the slam of the Light's power into her gems, forcing the power back into her gems and causing her to lose consciousness.

The idea sounded crazy in my head. I'd never done anything risky before. My life until now had focused on three things; my future, family, and food. I don't try new things, I don't go to new places, I stick to what I know. I peered back up at the asteroid through my curtains. My future had changed because of that. Now, I had none to focus on, let alone look forward to. Mom left us, Dad spends the days who-knows-where, and Nadine's off living her life doing who-knows-what. Even the food wasn't worth it anymore, as much as I wanted it to. Maybe it's time I did something crazy.
