It would've been already weird if it weren't for the fact that the same girl appears in town the next day, very much alive, and not remembering her untimely demise. A mysterious book with ties to a magical realm, a dead girl walking, and a town with secrets in every corner. Autumn's summer just got a little more interesting. And a little bit more dangerous.

The goal is to update every day through the month of November, each update between 1,000-2,000 words long, but, we'll see. Unedited excerpt from this year's NaNoWriMo story. Those who have read some of my other content will recognise the characters; I am adapting it into an original fantasy story, which is currently above 50k and around halfway through so far. In this excerpt, a sorrowful tale is told. (Yes, I spent about two seconds on the cover, why would you think that :P)
