After moving cities halfway before her second year in junior high, Ayame Kokoro mostly kept to herself. One evening after dinner, she comes across Tetsurō Kuroo and Kenma Kouzen playing volleyball, a sport she fell in love with after watching the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games and a new friendship was formed. In her first year of high school, one small mishap has her joining the track and field club instead of the volleyball club. By her second year, Ayame had quit the track and field club. Stuck in a rut and unsure of what to do next, Kuroo manages to convince her to help at some of the boys volleyball team's practices in hopes of reigniting her long-standing passion for volleyball. It was the beginning of April, the beginning of your first year abroad. You were starting your last year of high school in Nekoma High, in Japan. She's an amazing photographer and an even better writer who has everyone hooked with her catchy headlines and intricate articles. Kirika, who has now transferred to Karasuno, wants a big break. She wants to write a book to inspire young kids who want to follow their dreams. On her first day of school, she hears about the school's volleyball club, a club which has lost its popularity. One week later, Kirika goes to the volleyball club, to see if they'd let her follow them on their journey back to fame.
