At the Frost Syndicate, December doesn't smell like holiday cheer. It smells like disaster.
Four days before the corporate holiday party, Ded Moroz - the Syndicate's in-house shapeshifter - vanishes without a trace beneath a mountain of enchanted snow. There is only one possible replacement, and everyone is desperate enough to beg her: Victoria, the formidable demoness who heads the Quality Control Department. Tall, steel-spined, severe, and utterly devoid of a sense of humor, she is the last person anyone would expect to bring festive joy.
Snegurochka, however - Victoria's secretary, a witch named Alice - can barely hide her delight. At last, she has a perfectly legitimate excuse to spend four whole days pestering the unapproachable woman she may have been secretly in love with for a very long time.
Ahead lie chaos, ridiculous rehearsals, and increasingly desperate attempts to teach an ice-cold boss to laugh instead of growl. But the closer the celebration comes, the clearer it becomes: the magic sparking between them was never part of the script.
And fate's best gift will not be waiting for them under the tree.
