Nineteen Stories

Three years have passed. I'm still trapped, imprisoned in a city which is slowly crumbling around my eyes. My family - if there's anything left of it - haven't seen or heard of me since its members fled. Every day of my life, if I can even bring myself to call it that anymore, I witness the few souls who still surround me dropping to the ground in a lake of pure crimson, dead, waiting for whatever remains of their lives to drain into the sewers. I wanted to fight at first. This was my city, my parents' city, the city of a thousand glorious parties and a million dreams, the city of lovers, the city I loved. I didn't want to see it crumble into its own ashes. Three long years ago, I would have done anything to stop that happening. Three years on, and I'm not so sure...

Atara Rachedi is NOT your normal nineteen year old girl. She is an Assassin. With the world's crime rate having gone up more than 37% in the recent years; her job is to help the hopeless and to erase all those cruel people who inflict pain on others- those who can not defend themselves. World class terror groups, bank robbers and all skillful criminals are just part of her daily language. (Short story). Lucy Stein is trying to make sense of her life when her estranged father leaves her with a large inheritance and an old house. As she tries to understand why her father left and find who he was by exploring his estate, she is distracted and charmed by a peculiar young man living on her property. It's a short piece about love and family and growing up.

Love was never something Lena was concerned about. Who needs it anyway, right? Orphaned when she was six, nineteen year old Lena is out of the foster care system and on her own for her very first summer trying to forge her own path. After getting a job at the local Bookstore, everything seems to be falling into place for a nice, quiet summer when out of nowhere senior football star Nick Champion throws himself into her life. Is she ready to handle it? Or will she push him away?

Second year was supposed to be the "We've got the hang of this! Ready to rock it?" year. Instead, it brings old enemies to their doorstep and old feelings back to life. Emily swears she's moved on. Sarah swears she doesn't need defending. They fight, bicker, and slightly drive each other insane. But when the world starts pushing too hard, love fractures and home doesn't feel safe, the only thing that doesn't waver is the sister standing beside you.

OBLIGATION i.e a duty, a responsibility, pact my dearest, When i was in grade two the teacher asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up. 'a pilot with the hand of a pirate, head of a doctor and half of me should be a rich person'. when i was in grade ten my best friend fell for me hard but i had no such feelings for him but proclaimed i was in 'love' with him. he had helped me through a lot including my self-harming phase so the least i could do was love him back right? as time went on i became used to being in 'love' with him. at the age of 16 when our 'love' and friendship began deteriorating i realized i was obligated to him so i had to love him. Now i'm 19 and i have come to understand many things. people look down on women for working mainly on the basis of their being a woman. Men don't get enough credit. being yourself means hurting everyone around you. i came to an agreement with my mother and although i was unsure of if i would be able to achieve my part of the agreement but as time went on i began standing on a more steady ground. everything would have worked my way, i would finally have what i wanted most from my life : control. then it happened. you fell in 'love' with me. i hope one day you will realize that you too were in love with me as an obligation. it's okay. i know this is a lot to take in but i want you-no, i NEED you to know that i never wanted any of it to happen. i never wanted you to get hurt. sincerely, Jefra. *just start reading the story. i think u'll like it.....or not (in which case this book can go diving into hell) but like yeah. oh and just so you know this is and ongoing story and i'm still writing it. xoxo*

Forced to keep their 'relationship' a secret they spend their time sneaking around and mostly fighting--something Violet's sick of. The entire town, her parents, and her best friend view Michael Grey as someone that ruined her life and killed her brother. Violet views him as one of the best things to ever happen to her, but also one of the worst. But when another tragedy strikes, everything changes.

"If you could become a human again, would you?" she asked me, looking at a notepad. "Hmm..." I tapped my chin, pretending that I needed to think about it. "Nope. Not in a hundred years," I said, smiling. "Being a creature that is called a 'Dread' sounds cool." "Would you ever want to meet one?" she asked, looking like my answer wouldn't interest her in the slightest. I sighed and leaned back into my chair. "It's not my decision whether or not I want to meet one, but I will eventually be forced to do so, won't I? After all, I'm turning nineteen in a few days and I'll have to meet one in order to get a job." The woman merely nodded and scribbled on her clipboard. "We're done here," she said, smiling.

How crazy is it that she was really wit it? I'm not gonna lie. I was scared. First time having sex with an older woman and the first time during this pandemic.

The setting for the story is nineteen twenties rural Lancashire at a time when single mothers struggled to bring up a child without the support of a husband. Part One is about Emily.
