Perfection. Everyone wants it. You can try to resist it, talk yourself out of it, but we all fall under its spell eventually. We want it. We need it. It seems so simple, so innocent. You'd think that perfection makes us complete. But paired with our insecurity and human nature, it can bring us our own destruction. Why do we so desperately want what we cannot have? Why can't we see the truth in the mirror, rather than the shroud we've conjured over it? Because those aren't really our thoughts. Those aren't really our eyes. We watch the reflection through the eyes of society and long for something that will forever be out of our reach. There is no such thing as perfect time, but that doesn't stop us from seeking it. So what happens when your search for perfection goes too far?

Cooper Van Persie is the Prince and Heir of Amaryllis, a small European kingdom nested on the sea. Her father owns a billion dollar tech company and her mother is a model, both are hardly at home and shower her gifts rather than parental love. With her best friends, Lacy Victor and Kiki Cho by her side, she rules the school and sometimes takes her troubles out on innocent classmates. The story takes a turn that will be remembered by everyone, with a Cinderella twist which includes romance, friendship, family, and the most important thing, forgiveness. A crown and title, truly mean nothing if the heart inside isn't set to match what comes with the title and end up realizing that a true royal, means that of character, attitude, a true heart, can change the world. Before I Broke takes you through an emotional journey of Tanner Jenning's junior year in high school. Tanner is an intelligent, awkward, goody two shoes, teenage girl who goes to PCHS, Palm Coast High School. Her brother is an upcoming freshman at the same high school, her mother is a stay at home parent, her father is a doctor at the local hospital, and her boyfriend is a band geek. Tanner has never been popular and doesn't mind. She avoids homecoming, prom, parties, football games, and anyone who is considered "popular." Tanner has a good feeling about junior year and is excited to start applying to colleges like Harvard, MIT, and Stanford. But suddenly her life takes a turn for the worst. Her friends talk her into going to homecoming and she gets roped into attending an after party that ends with a treacherous video of her shared online. Little did she know that her invite to the party was a prank that will change her life forever. A video gets shared around school and rumors got thrown around, her relationship with her friends, boyfriend, and brother are in jeopardy. She feels cornered at school and finds her only relief at home. Except for when the harassment from her peers gets so great that it follows her everywhere. She can't take it. And if that isn't enough, someone she loves tragically dies in a car crash only pushing Tanner into a deeper hole of depression. Tanner's entire life is flipped upside down and she begins to self harm herself. Her peers bullying gets so great that Tanner feels like she is drowning. She distances herself from the rest of the world and isolates herself in darkness. Can Tanner get out of the dark and find light? Or will her life end as a result of the constant ridicule and bullying. This story is written in a BEFORE format and then switches to an AFTER format.

Follow best-friends Laura and Lennon as they coast through life, which, on the outside, looks absolutely perfect. But as the story progresses you will see more of Laura's tragic tale, and Lennon's tough times. As life goes on, Laura and Lennon realize that maybe they aren't the "best-friends for life" that they always thought they'd be, and with Lennon's new boyfriend, Louis, who secretly dated Laura earlier in the year, no one knows what terrible and awful things just might have happened or will in the future, to this once "perfect" duo...

I know, nothing's capitalized. but, that's not the point. the point is everyone gets bullied at some point of their life. some, more than others. it sucks, i know. but you'll get through. i promise.
