He recently found out that Marinette not only has an obsessive crush on him, but also that she's Ladybug. Not only that but that she also thinks off him somewhat below her in intelligence and power in their superhero form. The one that he's loved for so long, loves him back. But he can't find it in himself to reciprocate. And he feels that this isn't real love.
