I put my phone up to my ear, gun in the other hand.
"Please pick up." I whisper.
The call goes to her voice-mail. I don't blame her. It's almost two in the morning. I was still hoping, though.
"Hey! It's Hannah. Leave a message at the beep!"
I take a shaky breath. Here goes. "I'm going to be there with you. You won't see me again, but I'll be there watching you. Later, you'll wake up to learn I'm gone, and I'm truly sorry that that's how you'll find out. It wasn't your fault. Remember what I said Hannah, this goodbye isn't for forever. I love you. Goodbye, beautiful. Short and simple, just how you prefer." I end the voice-mail, stare at it for a moment, and chuck it at the wall, making it shatter.
I click the hammer of the gun and push it into my mouth.
"Finally." With one click, it's over. With one click, I've ended nineteen years of a life. My last thought is to only one person.
I love you.
