Hot shot is put on the heart transplant list and Quickshadow works there is good heart transplant program there Hot shot makes friends with four other kids his age with the same condition who also need new hearts. Three boys Hoist, Medix, and Wedge and a girl named Whirl. Hot shot has to be hospitalized due to his condition and never gives up hope for his new heart. His friends don't give up either.
