What should have been a piece-of-a-cake case becomes complicated when the police turns up to investigate a break in. And what is the connection to the mysterious lead tablet found 33 years ago across town? A Ghost Guard cosy mystery This story was originally written for ONC 2022, following the prompt #67: While working on a case, you come across a newspaper dated 25 years ago, and when you start reading it, an article catches your attention.

Cereal is a necessity to Connie Darwin, and so every day she goes down from her room of solitary and opens the fridge to find the milk. Then she pours her milk. Then she plops in the cereal and heads upstairs again. And the cycle repeats, until she finds her best friend, Clementine Lund, dead in her room, where she wasn't before. When her parents call her for a family meeting, she sees Clem again. And from then on, she starts using orange juice, because Connie needs those calories to get her energy up. Annabelle hadn't wanted to burn the restaurant down initially. In all honesty, she had been in a good mood. The food smelled great, the weather was perfect, and the boy she had met on Tinder looked like an absolute snack in all his pictures. But then, he rocked up to the date half an hour late, without an apology. Worse yet, he didn't look anything like his Tinder photos. In fact, he looked old enough to be her uncle. Still, she has to admit that, while her date sucks, the food is tasty. Plus, the waiter is also pretty cute. Besides, when that same waiter offers her a hand in serving some revenge to her catfishing date, Annabelle just can't say no. Does this charming waiter spell trouble? Possibly. But, surely, once revenge is served cold, there is always room for dessert, hey?

Timballisto struggles with the scattered pieces of Martin's memory the best he can, telling Martin the past doesn't matter. Yet, in saying so he doesn't know how much the past does matter, particularly when illness befalls those helping to build Redwall, which will eventually become a safe haven for many. Polleekeen always knew, though, what lay in store for Martin. Disclaimer - I don't own Redwall. This is written for ONC 2022, but the prompt I picked for this was prompt was number seventy, "His eyes were cold and lifeless as he stared at me. 'You have no idea who I am, do you?'."

Rachel took on the job of limo driving to pay for college. She learned within the first few months that sometimes meant taking on challenging clients. More often than not a too good to be true payout meant a challenging client, and the higher the pay, the more challenging. Of course, the fact she'd not gotten any real details should have been a clue this one would definitely be a challenge. Disclaimer - I don't own Voltron: Legendary Defender. This is written for ONC 2022 and is written for prompt four. "You're hired as a temporary bodyguard/driver for a high-profile client visiting your city for a week. It is very important you make sure the client sticks to the itinerary you are given. Only when you arrive are you told the client's identity - a celebrity known for being wild and always getting into trouble!"

The Sun has gone out and no one knows why. But the vampires don't seem to mind.
