Can Regulus' words speak louder than his brother's actions? There are many times Regulus doubts his ability to get through to his older brother who is unwilling to listen to anyone with the last name of Black, but a part of him wants to believe in Slughorn's pet project of forming a band and making music to bring house unity just as much as he wants to believe the songs he writers as Stubby Boardman might get through to Sirius. Lunette, a witch's cat, helps her little witch get through school. For ONC 2024, using prompt #84: A witchy tale from the perspective of the familiar. Aiming for a low stakes, cozy fantasy. For a while I've wanted to make an rpg game on this theme, so I thought I'd use the opportunity to write some of the story. We'll see how it goes! Unless otherwise specified, any art is by me :)

Where I brainstorm off old and new ONC prompts utilizing various fandom, I'm familiar with to give an idea of how to use prompts during ONC, and figure out the ins and outs of brainstorming for ONC.

The brothers both awake with lingering memories of limbo's message of trying again as well as the multiple lives they're meant to proceed through simultaneously. Disclaimer - I don't own Harry Potter. This story is one of my ONC projects for 2024, but the inspiration for this story is prompt number six. "Your life as you know it has ended. He passed his daredevil personality and creepy curiosity to his sons and daughter, who see him not only as a role model, but also as the force driving them to their goals. That is, if they can pass the tests life poses for them.

A prodigious young detective must confront his demons to prevent a cataclysmic war. ⸻ Detective Tobias Hale has a caffeine addiction and enjoys avoiding his problems. His problems include his dead Fae father, the abilities he inherited from him and a government agent named Alaine Falmouth. Their superiors assign Tobias and Alaine to solve the murder of Elijah Laing-a man whose death threatens to unravel centuries of peace. Despite his protests, Alaine pushes Tobias to use his abilities to present a solution. He realises avoiding his past is ineffective and must confront his Fae heritage to prevent a cataclysmic war.

This story follows Indy, a young woman with a hidden magical musical talent, as she encounters the impenetrable figure of Melodia, who promises to help her unlock her true potential. Alongside her loyal friend Nathan, Indy embarks on a journey of self-discovery and musical exploration. #ONC2024 (I used Prompt #8.)

ONC Novella. A little of something I've thought about. Promt no. 31. Total word count: 20015

Storms tended to bring change. Solving Neridia's first ever murder case wasn't exactly what Nemera had in mind. The overworked yet semi-retired bartender had seen her fair share of death and destruction within a world full of dragons and demons. But when Aidari Rainheart, a young Stormspell elf is accused of murdering one of her own, Nemera is dragged in to follow in her former Master's footsteps. Whether she liked it or not. The role of the Night Rider is a heavy burden to carry and without the usual comforts of following others' lead, Nemera finds herself drawn to secrets hidden deep within the Brink. But nothing is ever that easy when elves are involved and much like a good mead, the truth starts to get a lot murkier the more she delves in. Especially when Aidari turns out to be hiding far more than any elf in Neridia. Caught between a peace treaty, the aftermath of war and a complicated relationship with a happy go lucky pyro spirit things go from bad to worse when Nemera learns who exactly the victims are. Political coups turn into a full on power vacuum and how poisoning a dragon could lead to the murder of two of the most prominent elves in history. After all, killing an immortal race had never been done before. Somehow, Nemera has to learn to put aside her biases, her booze and most importantly, her bad mood to help those truly in need and maybe get a free tip at the end of the day. With a healthy dose of wit and a sobering reminder of what every Traited faces, perhaps her Master's last wish was for her to become something more than being a drop in the barrel.

Damian's family are all superheroes, with all three of his older brothers being well known within the superhero community which means they're often saving Gotham and the off shoots to the city. Then, one day, to spend time with them, Damian decides the route is to become a villain called Rouge George and life becomes more interesting, or so Damian thinks. Disclaimer - I don't own Young Justice. This is one of my ONC projects for this year. The prompt I am using is prompt eighty-seven, "You come from a family of highly respected heroes. All three of your big brothers are known as powerhouses, but you rarely see them since they're always saving the city. One day you realise that the only way to see all of your brothers is to become a villain. Turns out you're better at it than you thought, and family dinners suddenly become the most amusing time of day." For obvious reasons, that was a difficult one to pass up, but to make it work I didn't just go with the character's as is, but instead decided to go AU with Jason not becoming Red Hood in this and bringing Damian home to Wayne manor at a much earlier age which is what the first few chapters of the novella will cover as this will be important later on. And then the fun begins.
