In creative writing we're on a poetry unit so these are the poems I wrote and I hope you like them.

It's been over a thousand years since Katniss Everdeen and the rebels took control of the Capitol. About a hundred years later after Katniss and Peeta lived long happy lives the Capitol once again took over. This time it was almost too easy, the war lasting a mere week, the twelve districts have been taken over once again, and District 13 gone forever. After a hundred years of peace the Hunger Games began again. One thousand years later the rebels still haven't bounced back. The districts remain as they were before the rebels took over. The tributes from Districts 1,2, and 4 still train to become champions while the other's battle starvation. Twenty Four will be reaped, 1 will come out. May the odds be EVER in your favour!

Every summer, the coastal research station assigns two students to monitor seabirds nesting around an old lighthouse on a quiet island. Theo signs up for the position because he wants solitude and a break from the noise of campus life. When he arrives, he discovers his partner for the summer is Julian, an astronomy student, who prefers stargazing alone at night and filling the lighthouse logbook with careful notes and quiet sketches of constellations. At first they exist in separate rhythms: Theo waking early to watch the birds over the cliffs, Julian climbing the lighthouse at night to map the sky. But slowly their worlds overlap, late-night tea on the spiral staircase, quiet conversations while the wind moves through the lantern room, and shared pages in the logbook where science notes slowly turn into small personal messages. By the time the summer draws to a close, the lighthouse has recorded more than seabird migrations and star charts-it has quietly held the beginning of something neither of them expected to find so far from everyone else.
