The whole world knows that Ben Hargreeves's death was caused by a tragic incident during a mission. The seventeen-year-old superhero is constantly recalled by their siblings as the kind soul trapped in a violent body, hence, when the world had its eyes on him, people only saw an angry monster. Even though people constantly feared him, he didn't shrug even once. After all, he still was a boy whose first aspiration was to leave that shithole he was forced to call home to fulfill his dream of becoming a writer. Taking aside the moral debate of his death being either a gain or a loss for the development of humanity, there is a curious fact about his death: Nobody knows the way he died, or if he died. Nobody remembers anything. Only that the Jennifer incident was a tragic accident which ended up with Ben's death. But, what did actually happen? Does everybody forget everything or do they only choose to be silent? Despide all characters belonging to Gerard Way except the ones I made up, the story is 100% made up in my head, so any copies of this fanfic will be tolerated :) This story is crossposted on Ao3.

Michael Liddle and Alowyn face more than one set-back in their quest to find the Ideema Gift. It appears that no matter what they discover, the real truth seems to be something else entirely.
